The challenge

Radia has led the paint-mixing industry for over a century, but had little insight into how its mixers are used. Cans mixed per day, mixing frequency, and maintenance needs were reported manually, if at all. Their next-generation mixer added sensing, diagnostics, and cellular connectivity.

What we built

• → The cell modem application that securely connects the mixer to the cloud and handles data transfers and firmware updates.
• → A Microsoft Azure platform to ingest, store, and visualize data from every mixer.

The result

Radia closed the feedback loop from machine to manufacturer. Customers get continuous monitoring that catches maintenance needs before a mixer breaks down, and the data informs future designs.
