We are so excited to welcome a new member to our Lab651 team, Jan.
Jan is our newest accounting and HR manager.
We asked Jan to answer a few questions to get to know her better.
When asked to share pictures that tell a little more about herself, she shared photos of her grandsons (duh!) and her dogs (extra duh).
9 Things About Jan
1 / What’s your secret talent that no one knows about? I guess my secret talent would be that I am somewhat of a “baby whisperer”. I can soothe an anxious baby when no one else can. Don’t know why, just can.
2 / Do you have traditions in your family? We have many traditions in my family. We are very close and spend most vacations and holidays together. The most recent tradition we observed was building a ginger
bread haunted house with my two grandsons. They are ten and six and we have done this every year for the last five years. It is so much fun.
3 / What is your most used emoji? My most used emoji is the thumbs up. A close second would be the laughing emoji with tears.
4 / Coffee or tea? Coffee – so much coffee.
5 / If you could pick up a new skill in an instant what would it be? If I could pick up a new skill, it would be speaking Spanish. I studied in high school and have been studying on my own for months, but I still really struggle. I am not going to stop studying until I am fluent, even if it takes a lifetime.
6 / If you could have the power of teleportation right now, where would you go and why? I would go to Cuba. I have always wanted to go – have planned to go several times – and something has always happened to change those plans. I’ll get there.
7 / What is your favorite holiday and why? My favorite holiday is Halloween. I love to go to Happy Street with my grandsons and see all the costumes and to make our gingerbread houses.
8 / If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you want to have with you? If I was stranded on a deserted island, I would want flares, a great book and a machete, I guess.
9 / What are you most excited about in working with Lab651? I’m really excited to work at Lab651 because I think I’ll enjoy the culture and I’m amazed at the diversity of projects that the group works on.
Welcome to the team, Jan!
