Software Architect

Lab651 is seeking a creative, passionate, and energetic full-time Software Architect who is an out-of-the-box thinker, intellectually curious and possesses strong leadership skills.

In this role, you will be working with a highly experienced team dedicated to the success of our customers, our business and each other. 

We work in a collaborative and casual work environment on multiple exciting projects and are seeking that special person who is passionate about their craft and wants to show the world what they are capable of!

 

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates and guides scalable, testable, and reliable architecture and subsequent developments of projects for our customers 
  • Evangelizes the benefits of Scrum based Agile approach with CI/CD (Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery) and assists product teams in implementing and maintaining those tools
  • Coordinates with product and project management to provide an understanding of the technical feasibility of new opportunities
  • Identifies and corrects ineffective or missing processes or tools which may be a hindrance to project execution
  • Works with Test Engineering to create comprehensive automated testing suites
  • Works with Engineers to architect best-in-class solutions
  • Works with other across all engineering teams to validate API, content and architecture decisions
  • Assists Project Manager with generating new project plans and sprint capacity planning
  • Works to establish strong SDLC practices for teams
  • Deep understanding of software engineering and established best practices
  • Familiarity with Cloud-Native Hosting and CI/CD practices

 

Requirements:

  • Trustworthy, honest, and hardworking individual who is fanatical about finding solutions
  • Experience with modern application and API security (authentication, authorization, encryption)
  • Proficient with one or more of our core technologies (Web, API, Backend)
  • Experienced in one or more web frameworks and languages ( Ruby on Rails, React, Javascript, Python, etc )
  • Excellent technical documentation skills and testing skills
  • 7+ years of experience in developing software 
  • 3+years leadership experience
  • Bachelors in Computer Science or related field
  • Enjoy mentoring, influencing and teaching junior developers
  • Enjoy process development and continuous improvement
  • Small team / startup experience
  • Great communication skills
