Acquisition

Lab651, an end-to-end product design, development, and engineering company focusing on the Internet of Things, today announced the acquisition of Applied Logic Engineering, a privately-held engineering services company that specializes in developing IoT products for commercial and industrial applications. The acquisition of Applied Logic Engineering will strengthen Lab651’s service portfolio in embedded product development and aligns with the strategy of Lab651 to further provide end-to-end design services for connected solutions.

“This acquisition was a natural fit for our two organizations,” said Justin Grammens, cofounder of Lab651. “We have long been known for helping our clients build mobile, cloud, and voice-enabled applications for their digital and physical products. This acquisition helps us round out an already strong embedded product design team to better serve an even larger marketplace.”

Kelly Nehowig, President and CTO of Applied Logic Engineering, also commented, “Lab651’s acquisition of Applied Logic allows us to offer a wider and deeper set of solutions for our customers. Justin and the team at Lab651 are well respected in the IoT space and are a natural fit for the markets that we serve.”

“Lab651 is well versed at designing physical products and pushing them through to production,” explained cofounder Troy Pongratz.  “It was an easy choice because many of Applied Logic Engineering’s customers sell physical devices, which are a perfect fit with Lab651’s core competencies.”

Kelly and his team will remain in place and continue to provide support to customers and leadership during the transition.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
